Can a Dropdown item trigger actions depending on the value chosen?

I'd like to have a single item in a inventory template called, for example, "2-stroke fuel", as a dropdown with values: Missing, Full, 3/4, Half, 1/4, Empty. I'd then like to trigger actions for Missing, 1/4 and empty. Is this possible? Can it be done in a different way?
